Movie Trailer Friday (10-12-18)
Alright, welcome back to another movie trailer Friday roundup. A few new trailers this week standout, and I’m going to include the two big ones that I missed out on last week, because I released it on Wednesday. So lets get it started.
1. The Mule
To be honest, I had no fucking clue Clint Eastwood was still acting. This guy is 88 years old! I barely even want to get out of my bed in the morning, and this guy is still acting and directing. But this trailer is actually very solid, Eastwood(Million Dollar Baby) plays a broken-down WWII vet who is facing foreclosure, and is offered a job that requires him to transport drugs for Mexican drug cartel.
2. Mary Queen of Scots
If there’s one thing I’m not a big fan of, it’s period pieces, but if there’s one thing that I am a fan of, it’s Saoirse Ronan(Ladybird). I’ll watch almost anything that Ronan is in, so even though this movie is set in the 1500s, I have full faith in her and Margot Robbie(I,Tonya) to make this movie a banger.
3. Pet Sematary
The second movie adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Pet Sematary is slated to come out next year. And this looks creepy as shit. As someone who is not a big fan of horror movies because I’m a big soft boy, this is going to rough to get through, but the sake of my principles I gotta watch it.
4. Aladdin
I was a little skeptical at first when Disney first announced they were making a live-action Aladdin movie, but after this teaser, I think I’m all in. The cinematography looks great and I have full faith in Disney that they are gonna make this a banger. My only complaint is that I’m going to have to tolerate all of those stupid normie memes that say “I’ve been waiting 20 years for this movie, I’m gonna be kicking little kids in the face at the movie theater.
5. Glass
The second trailer for the spin-off of M.Night Shyamalan’s movie Split, and uhhh I don’t know. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Split and I just don’t have much faith in Shyamalan. I guess this movie and Shyamalan’s 2000 movie Unbreakable are in the same cinematic universe — so that’s cool I guess.
6. Ben Is Back
That boy Lucas Hedges(Manchester By The Sea) is back! This is one of my most anticipated movies of the year, Hedges plays a drug addict who returns home and his family has to deal with still loving him but also dealing with the frustrations/trauma of living with an addict. In what looks to be a be a very heavy movie, Julia Roberts who plays Heges mom in this movie looks fantastic. And since Hedges is only in movies that get nominated for a billion oscars(Manchester, Ladybird, Three Billboards), I have faith this movie is going to be good.
7. The Best of Enemies
Another Sam Rockwell movie — Let’s fucking go! It doesn’t matter what Rockwell does at this point, I’m going to watch whatever he’s in. But back to the trailer, although the trailer gives away a lot, this movie is looking solid. Set in 1971, Civil Rights activist Ann Atwater goes head to head with the KKK over school integration in North Carolina.
